away. They never laid an egg so I thought they were too old. I just planned to use them as trash cans and tillers. Well today Jack noticed a nest. Who knows how long them have been laying and who knows which chicken is laying. We will try to figure that out in the next day or so, scientifically...as much as as 5 kids and a mom can.We are very excited to start getting some eggs, especially during the winter months.

Yay! Love the fresh eggs! Our babies from the spring have started laying - we're getting 5-10 a day!
wow to the layers of eggs! that is such a treat. We h ad some road island reds for our boys and they loved watching them run all over.
Yipie! Glad they're laying again - they always did like to hide nests here & there...
